After the defeat of Hitler in 1945, there were some in Denmark (which Germany had occupied from April 1940 until May 1945) who called for the return of South Schelswig to Danish rule. Didn't get very far, but the debate led to the resignation of the Danish PM in 1947. He favored claiming the land, the Danish parliament was against it.
