I am a Social Studies teacher who is creating a lesson page to be published (non-commercial) in a Geography Workbook for 7th graders. The workbook will be published hardcopy for free dissemination to schools in Arizona and housed on the Arizona Geographic Alliance website for free access to any educator or student internet-wide. I am interested in using the photo of the Mt Fuji stamp (1940 Scott 269 20s ultramarine "Mount Fuji and Cherry Blossoms") as part of the lesson. WHO might I contact for permission to use the image? I am assuming the image is a photo by the owner and not one taken from a stamp catalog? From my research, I believe images of Japanese stamps are public domain 70 years after publication or death of creator. I have an official letter that I can send from the educational organization publishing the Geography Workbook.

PS Your blogpost is amazing!! My love of Geography stemmed from my stamp collection days many years ago when I started collecting in the 5th grade. My father, may he RIP, was a philatelic wholesaler during 1960s-1980s. His company was called Eddicks. I have fond memories of him sharing glimpses of rare stamps with me.
Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02024632082262694589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6190925726844102948.post-43322992063075351822014-09-14T16:09:27.100-07:002014-09-14T16:09:27.100-07:00Bud- I'll bet you have some nice stories about...Bud- I'll bet you have some nice stories about the people you have hosted, and the visits you've had with them in their home countryJimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02024632082262694589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6190925726844102948.post-978392152896498832014-09-14T14:35:07.913-07:002014-09-14T14:35:07.913-07:00I suspect that many of us find connections between...I suspect that many of us find connections between our stamp collecting, not to mention our travels, and the folks we've hosted in our homes. Over the years we've hosted over 75 people for a month up to two years, many of them from overseas. (Being connected with higher education helps make these contacts.) We maintain contact with them, visit often, especially in South Africa. Visits often provide all-too-brief philatelic excursions.Budhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18202098671443782842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6190925726844102948.post-9699522050642852992014-09-06T00:07:27.628-07:002014-09-06T00:07:27.628-07:00Thanks Jim. the link to my post on the blog with t...Thanks Jim. the link to my post on the blog with this adhesive is:
http://mynorthborneostamps.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/some-japanese-occupation-showa-stamps.htmlmyNBstampshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10802907145911826126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6190925726844102948.post-64851891305646508292014-09-05T15:25:04.973-07:002014-09-05T15:25:04.973-07:00myNBstamps- sure enough, the cherry blossom -Mt.
